Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-23
TextSupport is a service of Agor AI. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean TextSupport and Agor AI. "You" means anyone who texts our number, 1-888-914-8398, or uses textsupport.org.
TextSupport helps you fix tech problems by text. The replies are written by an AI (Anthropic Claude). No person writes the replies, and no person is on the line. But a person at TextSupport may read some conversations later, to check safety and quality. See "Who reads your messages" below.
This policy says what we collect, why we collect it, who sees it, how long we keep it, and what choices you have.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to answer your texts and take payment.
- Our system tries to remove passwords, codes, card numbers and Social Security numbers from your texts before we store them or send them to the AI. It can miss some. Photos are not filtered.
- We send photos to the AI to help you. We do not store photos in our own systems.
- A small number of conversations, with those details removed, are read by us and checked by AI tools for safety and quality.
- We do not sell your information. We do not share it for ads.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the Text Message services.
- Text DELETE, then YES DELETE, to erase your device details and messages.
What we collect
Your phone number. We need it to reply to you. We also look up what kind of line it is (for example, which mobile carrier you use, or whether it is an internet phone number). We use that to work out the cost of each text. We also use it to decide if you get a free first problem. Internet phone numbers do not get one.
What you text us. We keep the text of your messages and our replies so the AI can follow along while it helps you. Before we store a message in our systems or send its text to the AI, our system tries to find and remove:
- passwords and PINs,
- verification codes,
- credit and debit card numbers,
- Social Security numbers.
Our filter works by spotting patterns. It can miss some. Please do not send these. If we spot one, we remove it and tell you so. We will never ask for them.
Photos you send. If you send a photo, such as a picture of your screen, we send it to the AI so it can help you. Photos are not filtered. If a photo shows a card number, a password or a code, the AI and our text provider will see it. So please cover those before you take the photo. We do not store photos in our own systems. Our text provider, Twilio, keeps a copy for up to 48 hours, and then we delete it.
Your device profile. To save you from repeating yourself, we keep short notes about your devices and services. For example: "iPhone 13, Comcast Wi-Fi, HP printer." The notes are only about your tech. We keep these until you text DELETE.
Your account balance and history. We keep a record of your credit: what you added, what each text cost, and any refunds. We also keep a record of when you first texted us, and of any STOP, START or auto top-up choices you made.
Payment records. Payments are handled by Stripe. When you or a family member adds credit, Stripe collects the card details. We never see your full card number. Stripe sends us:
- the amount and the date,
- the last 4 digits and the type of card,
- whether you used Apple Pay or Google Pay,
- the name, email address, country and ZIP code given at checkout,
- a code that lets Stripe charge a saved card, if you chose auto top-up.
If you pay for someone else. If you add credit to another person's number or buy a gift code, we keep the number you paid for, your email address, and the payment record. We will not tell you whether that number has ever texted us. When that person texts us, we tell them how much credit was added. We do not tell them your name, email or card.
Emails you send us. If you email support@textsupport.org, we keep your email and our answer.
Website visits. When you visit textsupport.org, our host, Cloudflare, sees basic technical details, like your IP address and browser type. This is needed to deliver the page and block attacks. We do not use ad trackers or sell website data.
Service records. We keep simple counts to run and improve the service: how many texts came in, how long replies took, what they cost, and whether a problem got solved. These records use a scrambled code in place of your phone number. They do not contain your messages.
Why we use it
We use your information to:
- answer your texts and walk you through your problem,
- remember your devices so you do not have to repeat yourself,
- spot scams and send safety help when you may be in danger,
- work out what each text costs and charge your credit,
- process payments, refunds and gift codes,
- honor STOP, HELP, DELETE and other keywords,
- check the quality and safety of our replies, and make them better,
- keep the service safe, stop abuse and fix errors,
- keep records the law requires.
We do not use your information to market to you. We never text you first.
Who reads your messages
The AI reads your messages to answer you. No person reads them as they come in.
To keep the service safe and working well, we also look back at some conversations:
- Quality checks. Each day, a small sample of conversations is checked. A person at TextSupport reads them, and AI tools from Anthropic score them.
- Safety flags. If a conversation looks like a scam, a crisis or misuse, it is flagged. Flags go into a daily report emailed to us. The report uses a scrambled code, not your phone number.
- Fixing the service. What we learn helps us improve the AI's instructions. We do not put your real messages in our test files. Our test cases are written by us, or rewritten so they cannot be traced to you.
The conversations we review have passwords, codes, card numbers and SSNs removed as described above. We only keep review copies while your messages are kept (30 days).
Text messages (SMS)
TextSupport tech-help text line. By texting 1-888-914-8398, you ask us to reply about your tech problem. Our first reply tells you we are an AI and explains the cost, HELP and STOP. You must be 13 or older.
- How you join. You join by texting us first. We only text people who have texted us. We never text a number that has not texted us.
- What we send, and how often. Message frequency varies. Every text we send is part of a conversation you started. We send:
- replies to your texts,
- answers when you text a keyword like HELP, BALANCE or AUTO OFF,
- a note that credit was added, or that a payment or refund went through, in our reply to your next text (never on its own),
- a short "one moment" note and a late reply if our system is slow, or a short note saying we can't answer, instead of silence,
- a few safety follow-ups if you may be facing a scam or a crisis.
- No marketing. We never send marketing texts.
- Cost. TextSupport is a paid service. Once you have bought at least $10 of credit, your first problem is free (up to 10 texts; not for VoIP and some other line types). Scam emergency steps and crisis contacts are free for everyone. Other texts use about 8 to 10 cents each (our estimate) of prepaid credit, which you add by card starting on textsupport.org, plus a 3% service fee and the card fee when you add it. Nothing is billed to your phone bill. Msg & data rates may apply from your phone company. Full details are at textsupport.org/terms and textsupport.org/pricing.
- STOP. Texting STOP, CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE or STOPALL to 1-888-914-8398 stops all messages. Text START or UNSTOP to begin again. These words work when sent by themselves.
- Auto top-up. To turn off auto top-up, text AUTO OFF. Do not text CANCEL for this. CANCEL stops all messages.
- HELP. Text HELP to 1-888-914-8398 for help, or email support@textsupport.org.
- No sharing. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the Text Message services.
Carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
Who helps us run the service
We use a small number of companies to run TextSupport. They process your information only to provide their service to us, under their own privacy and security terms.
| Company | What they do | What they get |
|---|---|---|
| Twilio | Sends and receives our text messages | Your phone number, your messages and photos as you sent them, our replies, your STOP and START choices |
| Anthropic | Runs the AI (Claude) that writes the replies, and the AI tools that check quality | Your messages with sensitive details removed (as far as our filter can), your photos (not filtered), your device profile |
| Stripe | Handles payments | Card details, payment amount, name, email address, country and ZIP code, the phone number or gift code the credit is for |
| Cloudflare | Hosts our website and our systems, stores our records, and forwards our email | Everything we store, plus website visit details and emails you send us |
| Our email inbox | Emails you send to support@textsupport.org, our answers, and our daily reports |
None of the sharing described here includes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent.
How long Anthropic keeps data. Anthropic deletes what we send it within 30 days. It may keep some of it longer only if it needs to for safety, to enforce its usage rules, or because the law requires it. Anthropic does not use it to train its AI models.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone from serious harm. If the business is sold or merged, the information we already have may go to the new owner, and this policy will still apply to it. None of the sharing described here, including a sale or merger, includes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent.
We do not sell or share your information for ads
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for targeted advertising. We have not done so in the past 12 months.
How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Your messages and our replies (sensitive details removed) | 30 days |
| Copies reviewed for quality and safety | 30 days, the same as your messages |
| Photos | Not stored by us |
| Messages and photos held by Twilio, as you sent them | Deleted after 48 hours |
| Device profile | Until you text DELETE |
| Credit history, opt-in, STOP and START records, auto top-up consent, payment records | 5 years |
| Payer email and gift code records | 5 years |
| Line type lookup result | As long as your credit history (5 years) |
| Service records (scrambled code, no message text) | 3 years |
| Emails you send us | 3 years, or 5 years if they are about a payment or refund |
| Daily reports | 1 year |
| Website visit details | As long as Cloudflare keeps its logs under its own terms |
We keep payment, consent and auto top-up records for 5 years because the Telemarketing Sales Rule, which we follow for paid tech support, requires records to be kept that long. We keep them even if you text DELETE.
Deleting your information
To delete your information, text DELETE to 1-888-914-8398. We will ask you to confirm. Text YES DELETE to go ahead.
When you confirm:
- Right away, we erase your device profile and your stored messages. We turn off auto top-up and remove your saved card from Stripe.
- Within 30 days, copies in our backups are cleared. We also ask Twilio to delete any messages and photos it still holds for your number.
- We keep your credit balance, payment records and consent records for 5 years, as explained above. These records do not contain your messages.
If you texted STOP. After STOP, we cannot text you, so we cannot ask you to confirm. Text START first and then DELETE, or email support@textsupport.org.
You can also email support@textsupport.org to ask us to delete your information.
Turning off auto top-up and your saved card
You can turn off auto top-up at any time:
- text AUTO OFF to 1-888-914-8398, or
- turn it off at textsupport.org.
Texting STOP also turns off auto top-up and removes your saved card. So does DELETE. We keep a record that you agreed to auto top-up, and when it was turned off.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you these rights:
- Right to know. You can ask what personal information we have about you, where it came from, why we use it, and who we share it with. You can ask for a copy.
- Right to delete. You can ask us to delete your personal information. Some records we must keep by law.
- Right to correct. You can ask us to fix information that is wrong. To fix your device profile, just text the right details (for example, "I have an iPhone 15 now"). For anything else, email us.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share your information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Right to limit use of sensitive information. We only use sensitive information to provide the service you asked for.
- Right to equal treatment. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
How to ask.
- To ask for a copy of your information, or to correct it, email support@textsupport.org.
- To delete it, text DELETE to 1-888-914-8398, or email us.
How we check it is you. If you text us, the request comes from your own phone number, and that is how we check. If you email, we check that your email matches the one used to pay, or we ask you to text a request from your phone. We will never send you a code, and we will never ask you for one. We answer within 45 days.
Using an agent. You can have someone else make a request for you. We may ask for proof that you gave them permission.
What we collect, by CCPA category, in the past 12 months:
- Identifiers: phone number, name and email address (if given at checkout), IP address.
- Commercial information: credit added, texts charged, refunds.
- Financial information: payment records from Stripe (not your full card number).
- Geolocation (rough): country and ZIP code given at checkout.
- Internet activity: basic website visit details.
- Audio or visual information: photos you send (sent to the AI, not stored by us).
- Inferences: your device profile.
- Sensitive information: our system tries to remove passwords, codes, card numbers and SSNs from your messages. Anything else sensitive you choose to text us is kept for 30 days and used only to help you and to check safety and quality.
We get this information from you, from family members who pay for you, from Twilio (line type), and from Stripe (payment details). We use and share it only as described in this policy.
"Shine the Light." We do not share personal information with others for their own marketing.
Do Not Track. Our website does not track you across other sites, so we treat every visit the same way, whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
Children
TextSupport is for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has texted us, we stop helping that number and delete their messages and device profile. We keep only a one-way code of the number (not the number itself), so we don't text it again.
Teens 13 to 17 can use TextSupport with a parent's or guardian's OK. We treat their information the same way as everyone else's, and we never use it for marketing.
If you think a child under 13 has used the service, email support@textsupport.org. We will delete their messages and device profile. We may have to keep payment records, because the law requires it. Those records do not contain messages.
Security
We protect your information with care:
- Each phone number's records are kept apart from every other number's.
- Our system tries to remove passwords, codes, card numbers and SSNs before anything is stored in our systems.
- Only a small number of conversations are read by a person, as described above.
- Information is encrypted when it travels over the internet.
- Our service records and daily reports use a scrambled code in place of your phone number.
- Old messages are deleted on a schedule.
No system is perfectly safe. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
United States only
TextSupport is for people in the United States. We and our providers mainly process information in the United States. Our providers may also process it in other countries under their own terms.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is big, we will also tell you in a reply the next time you text us. We will not use your information in a new way without telling you first.
