TextSupportAI helper
You: My printer says offline and I need my boarding pass.
TextSupport: TextSupport is an AI, not a human. About 8-10 cents/text…
TextSupport: Let’s get it printing. Look at the Wi-Fi light on the printer. Is it steady, blinking or off?
You: Blinking.
TextSupport: It is trying to reach your Wi-Fi. Turn the printer off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it on again. Reply DONE, or tell me what you see.
You: It printed! Thank you

First step for: “My printer says offline.”
First step, from the TextSupport AI helper
Let’s wake the printer up. Press its power button to turn it off. Wait 30 seconds, then press it again to turn it back on, and wait until it goes quiet.
Then try printing again. Still says offline? Text us, and the AI helper takes the next step with you.

Let’s restart your internet box. It is the box with small lights that the internet cable plugs into, often called a router. Unplug its power cord, wait one full minute, then plug it back in.
Give it about 5 minutes to come back. Still dropping? Text us, and we’ll take the next step together.

Take a breath. That box is almost always fake, made to scare you. Real virus warnings never ask you to call a number. Do not call it, and do not type anything into the box. Close the web browser. If it will not close, turn the device off and on again.
Already called the number, paid, or let someone into your computer? It is not your fault. Here is what to do now.

Let’s get you back in the official way. Open your email’s own app, or type its website yourself, not a link from a text or email. On the sign-in page, tap Forgot password. It sends a code to your phone or backup email. Type that code only on that page.
Never read that code to anyone, and never send it to us. Stuck on a step? Text us what the screen says.

Good on you for checking first. Don’t tap any link in it, and don’t reply to it. Look for the usual tricks: it rushes you (“today”, “right now”), it asks you to pay, or it wants a password or a code. Any one of those is a strong sign of a scam.
You can text us what it says. Leave out any codes, passwords or card numbers.

What it costs
About 8–10¢ a text
No subscription. You pay only when you text us: about 8 to 10 cents a text (our estimate), from prepaid credit. When you add credit, you also pay a 3% service fee and the card fee. Once you have added $10 or more, your first problem is free.
Example: adding $10 of credit
Credit
$10.00
Service fee (3%)
$0.30
Card fee
$0.62
Sales tax
$0.00
You pay
$10.92
How each text is priced
Our estimate. Each text uses credit at our cost, plus a 12% share for our fixed costs and free scam and crisis help, plus 13%. Add any amount from $5 to $100 with a card. You get the full amount as credit, and you pay a 3% service fee and the card fee on top: $10 of credit costs $10.92 ($10.00 credit + $0.30 service fee + $0.62 card fee + $0.00 sales tax). Credit never expires. Unused credit can be refunded; the service fee and card fee cannot. No subscription, no app, no account.
Your first problem
Once you have added $10 or more of credit, your first problem is free, for up to 10 texts. Internet phone numbers (VoIP) and some other line types do not get a free first problem.
Scam emergency and crisis help
Our scam emergency steps (once a day per number) and crisis contacts are free for everyone. Scam follow-up replies are free up to 3 every 30 days, or 10 once you have added $10 of credit. If you then want help fixing your device, the normal price per text applies.
Real tech help never asks for your secrets. If someone saying they are TextSupport breaks one of these, it is not us. Stop and do not reply.
We never ask for passwords or codes
We never ask for your password, PIN, the one-time security codes companies send you, card numbers or Social Security number. If you send one by mistake, our system tries to spot it and remove it before our AI reads it. It cannot catch every one, so please do not send them.
We never ask you to install remote-access apps
We never ask you to let anyone “connect to” your phone or computer.
We never tell you to call a number we have not checked
We only give numbers from our checked list of official company, government and nonprofit contacts. We may also tell you to call 911 or 988, or the number printed on your own card or bill.
We only link to textsupport.org and official sites
Links to textsupport.org are for adding credit or reading our terms. Payment links always start with textsupport.org and take you to Stripe, our card processor. Sometimes we name an official site, like ReportFraud.ftc.gov, so you can report a scam. We never send any other link.
We never text you first
Every text we send is a reply to a text you sent us. We never send ads or marketing texts.
We never ask for gift cards, wire transfers or crypto
You only pay us by card. Payment links always start with textsupport.org and take you to Stripe, our card processor.
We always tell you we are an AI
The first text in every conversation says so. Replies are written by Claude, an AI from Anthropic that we use. TextSupport is run by Agor AI, not by Anthropic. No person is on the line.
One page with the number, how it works, the prices and our 7 promises, to cut out and keep.
They start it, with one text
We never text anyone who hasn’t texted us first. Their first reply says it is an AI and what it costs. It never asks them for a password, a code or a way into their phone.
Want to see how it answers first? Try it yourself.

Being scammed right now? It’s not your fault.
This happens to smart, careful people every day. Take a breath. Then do this, in order:
If someone is hurt or in danger, call 911.
Stop and hang up. Do not keep talking. Do not pay anything.
Disconnect from the internet. Turn off Wi-Fi, or unplug the internet cable. If someone has control of your computer, turn it off.
Call your bank. Use the number on the back of your card, not a number someone gave you.
Call the AARP Fraud Watch Helpline at 877-908-3360. Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm Eastern. It is free, and you do not need to be an AARP member.
Report it. Go to ReportFraud.ftc.gov and to IC3.gov (run by the FBI).
Then text us what you see. Our scam emergency steps are free for everyone, once every 24 hours per number.
